How to Prepare Your Garments for a Memory Bear

We're honored to help you turn treasured garments into a keepsake you'll hold onto forever. To make sure your Memory Bear comes out beautifully, please follow these garment preparation steps before sending your fabrics to us.

How Much Fabric to Send

Please send 3–5 garments for each Memory Bear. A good mix of fabrics — T-shirts, flannels, sweatshirts, or other soft clothing — works best. Larger or heavier garments provide the most usable fabric.

Not sure if your garments will work? Feel free to email us before sending and we'll be happy to help.

Garment Condition

Please only send garments that are:

  • Clean and free of stains where possible (sentimental stains are understood — just let us know)
  • Free of significant damage such as large tears or holes in areas you'd like featured

Washing Your Garments

Please wash all garments before packaging and sending them to us. This is especially important for:

  • Dark-colored fabrics (black, navy, deep red, etc.)
  • Strongly dyed or vibrant prints

Washing helps set the dye and ensures the fabrics are clean and ready for production. If a garment is too delicate to wash, please note that when you contact us.

Buttons, Zippers & Hardware

You do not need to remove buttons, zippers, or other embellishments before sending. We take care of that during production.

Packaging Your Garments

Pack your garments securely in a bag or box. We recommend:

  • Folding garments neatly to prevent wrinkles
  • Using a sealed plastic bag inside your box to protect against moisture during transit
  • Including a note with your name and order number so we can match your garments to your order

How to Send Your Garments

After placing your order, we will email you with our mailing address and any additional shipping instructions specific to your order. Please wait for that confirmation before sending your garments.

Processing time: Once we receive your garments, please allow 14–21 business days for your Memory Bear to be completed.

Important to Know

  • All sales are final. Due to the custom and handmade nature of Memory Bears, we do not accept returns or exchanges.
  • Please do not send garments until you have received our shipping confirmation email — this helps us track your order from start to finish.
